Online ordering for your restaurant — without platform commission
Updated September 30, 2026 · 2 min read
Delivery platforms bring customers but keep a cut of every order. Your own online shop doesn’t replace them entirely — it stops you paying commission on customers who already know you.
What platforms really cost
Large delivery platforms usually keep a significant share of each order, often between 20 and 30% depending on the contract and delivery service. On a CHF 40 order that can be CHF 8–12 that never reaches you.
For new customers it can be worth it. For regulars who order every week, much less so.
What you need to take orders directly
- A clear online menu with photos, prices and options
- Online payment with TWINT and card
- Delivery area and minimum order, or pickup
- A kitchen order board with ticket printing
- Automatic confirmation to the customer
How to bring customers to your shop
Put the link or QR code on receipts, bags, your window and your Google profile. A small perk for direct orders, like loyalty points or a free drink, works better than any ad.
An example: Atelier Kebab in Lugano
Its own online shop with TWINT payment, delivery within a set radius, a kitchen order board with ticket printing and loyalty points. You can try it live in the Cases section.
What it costs
At Atelier Lago, the Website + Panel package is CHF 2,490 for 12 months. For shops with many products, delivery and integrations there’s the kiosk package on quote. TWINT and card payment fees remain, but they’re a fraction of platform commission.
